ORGANIZATION STATEMENT
WHO WE ARE
The Democratic Party of Orange County (DPOC) is the official organization for Democrats in the fifth-largest county in the nation.
With more than 514,000 members, we represent the third-largest community of Democrats within California. There are more registered Democrats here in Orange County than in San Francisco.
The DPOC has a permanent office in Santa Ana, full-time staff, a robust intern program, and hundreds of active volunteers.
Our job is to help build the Democratic Party structure within Orange County, register new Democratic voters, help elect Democratic candidates at the local, state and national level, and run an aggressive GOTV (Get Out the Vote) program.
Although Republicans still outnumber Democrats in Orange County, there are over 2,500 newly registered Democrats each and every month. We are personally reaching out to those new voters to thank them for registering and to welcome them to our Party. We believe that this will substantially increase turnout in future elections.
DPOC also has developed a long-range plan to recruit, train, and support qualified Democratic candidates at all levels – focusing on local offices such as city councils, school boards, and water districts.
