CANDIDATE
Mark Peterson
CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF
District Attorney - Public Administrator, Contra Costa County
NOVEMBER 2, 2010 ELECTION
2010 California General Election
CANDIDATE STATEMENT
As a Deputy District Attorney in Contra Costa County, I have dedicated 25 years to prosecuting thousands of criminals, including sexual predators, murderers, and gang members.
Budgets are limited. We must devise smarter ways to protect our community from violent criminals.
If elected District Attorney, I will not condone “business as usual” practices. All programs will be reviewed for effectiveness – before they are funded. I will implement novel approaches to take violent criminals off the streets. And, I will place importance on preventing youth from beginning a life of crime and drugs – not trying to rehabilitate lifetime career criminals.
I'm proud to have the support of Contra Costa County Firefighters, local police, crime victims, Senator Mark Desaulnier, Assemblyman Tom Torlakson, Supervisor Susan Bonilla, and others.

If you are interested in a true life account of the challenges of trying a murder trial, sign up for my Anatomy of a Real Life Murder Trial. Please call me anytime at 925-686-3422 if you would like more information.
I would be honored to have your support on Election Day, June 8th. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mark Peterson
